What I Learned About Categories and Tags

Categories and tags are tools in WordPress that help organize blog posts and make content easier for readers to find. Categories are broad groupings that define the main topics of a website, and every post should generally belong to at least one category. They help structure the site and are often used for navigation menus. Tags, on the other hand, are more specific keywords that describe details within a post. A single post can have many tags, and they help connect related content across different categories.

For my selected website topic, I plan to use categories to represent the major subject areas of the site so visitors can quickly understand what the blog covers and browse posts by topic. I’ll keep the number of categories limited and clearly defined to avoid confusion. Tags will be used more flexibly to highlight specific themes, tools, or ideas mentioned in individual posts. This approach will improve site organization, enhance user experience, and make it easier for both readers and search engines to discover related content.
